No piece of land or landowner is completely the same; every management decision is personal, driven by unique experiences and circumstances. Conservation partners are available to help landowners and land managers find the best approach to meet their operational goals and maintain healthy grasslands.
An initial step is to understand the species of concern and which management practices will best fit the situation. Then, consider talking with conservation delivery staff who can provide support by listening to concerns, helping to weigh options, and providing recommendations.

Communication Guide & Toolkit
Playa Lakes Joint Venture created a Woody Plant Management Communications Guide and Toolkit to help conservation outreach and delivery staff communicate more effectively with producers about woody plant management. While the guide is primarily for conservation staff, the information and toolkit could be helpful to landowners and land managers who wish to promote healthy grasslands among their networks. The guide also provides access to a toolkit with communication products that can be downloaded and shared on social media to help promote the early removal of woody encroachment and healthy grasslands.
The guide was informed by interviews and focus groups with landowners and producers in Kansas and Oklahoma. aimed at understanding the motivations, barriers, and future needs regarding managing invasive woody plants. This information is being used to help conservation delivery staff communicate more effectively with landowners and encourage them to conduct earlier removal and management practices whenever possible.
